1830 - According to the County Clare Heritage Center, he was born about 1830 in Co Clare. This is based on his being about 30 years old at the time of marriage, which was fairly typical at that time and place. He has only been associated with Ennis and Ennistymon, so he was probably born at one or the other place.

According to Winnie Tucker Lee, he was once in the seminary, but left before ordination. He had large wooden rosary beads that had been his in the seminary, which he kept when he left the seminary. After his death, his daughter, Lizzie Blake O'Connor used them, and they were buried with her.

The County Clare Heritage Center said he lived on Mill St, Ennis.

1855 - He is listed in Griffiths Valuation, v10, p 150 Ireland, Co Clare, Barony Islands, Drumcliff Parish, Clonroad Beg, in the town of Ennis at 66 Mill St, as Michael Blake, Immediate Lessor Reps. Patrick M'Mahon, occupying house, office yard & garden, area 16 P., rateable Annual Valuation of land 5s. 0d., rateable Annual Valuation of buildings 5£ 10s. 0d., total annual valuation of rateable property 5£ 15s. 0d.

1860 - According to the Co Clare Heritage Center, he married Margaret Gregg on 17 Nov. The witnesses were Andy Vaughan and Bridget Arkins.

1862 - According to the Co Clare Heritage Center, his daughter, Mary, born on Mill St, Ennis, Co Clare, was baptized on 31 Mar. Godparents were James Morrissy and Bridget O'Loughlin.

1863 - According to the Co Clare Heritage Center, his daughter, Ellen, was born on 23 May at Mill St, Ennis, Co Clare. Godparents were William Coffey and Bridget Lynch.

1865 - According to the Co Clare Heritage Center, his son, William, was born on 8 Feb on Mill St, Ennis, Co Clare. Godparents were William Adams and Ellen O'Connor.

1867 - His daughter, Elizabeth [Lizzie], was born on 12 Feb on Mill St, Ennis, Co Clare.

Sometime after Lizzie's birth, the family moved to Deerpark, Ennistymon, Co Clare.

1870 - His son, John, was born on 13 Dec in Deerpark, Ennistymon. He was the informant for the birth certificate, and listed himself as a carpenter.

1872 - His son, Patrick [Parker], was born on 27 Jan in Ennistymon. He was the informant for the birth certificate, and listed himself as a carpenter.

1874 - His daughter, Anne [Nana], was born in Ennistymon on 1 May. He was the informant for the birth certificate, and listed himself as a carpenter.

1875 - His son, John, registered for school in Ennistymon. Michael is listed there as a farmer-smith.

1876 - His son, Michael, was born in Ennistymon on 8 Apr. He was the informant for the birth certificate, and listed himself as a tradesman.

1878 - His son, William, registered at the Ennistymon school. Michael is listed there as a carpenter. His son, John, registered at the Ennistymon school. Michael is listed there as a car maker.

1880 - His daughter, Ellen Blake, married on 27 Jan at the Catholic Chapel of Ennistymon, Co Clare, Ireland. The marriage certificate lists Michael Blake as Ellen's father, living at the time of the marriage, and a blacksmith. His son, William, registered at the school in Ennistymon. Michael is listed on the registration as a carpenter.

1881 - He is not listed in Slater's Directory of Ireland, p132, although his brother, John, is listed there. His son, Patrick, registered in the Ennistymon school. Michael is listed there as a carpenter.

1885 - His son, Michael, registered at Ennistymon school. He is listed there as a car maker.

According to the 1910 US Census, his wife was a widow then. Winnie Tucker Lee said that Margaret Gregg came to the US as a widow, and the census said she came to the US in 1900, so he must have died between 1880 and 1900. According to Peter Blake of Ennistymon, Michael worked near the Inagh River.
