Web Notes notes for Peter BLAKE
Family legend as told by Margaret Murphy Blake has it that he was a carpenter in England. He was told to build a scaffold for the death of a man whom he thought was innocent, so he refused to build the scaffold and fled to Ireland. His wife was a concert singer and met her husband in England on tour. She was a beautiful woman. Ron Mostyn also knew of this. From somewhere in south of England.

Family originally came from Galway, not England, according to Nano Blake. She also said the Blakes owned several stores and property in Ennistymon. Not sure which generation of Blakes she means.
