Came Wawrzyniec Żyliński obywatel = citizen, residing in Suwałki, age 49 and in the presence of Justyn Piasecki, organist, age 43 and Augustyn Slaski, a householder, age 33, both residing in Suwałki, presented to us a male child who was born in Suwałki on 22 November of the current year at 1 pm from his wife Marianna nee Pade, age 28. This child by the holy baptism performed today was named Klemens Andrzej and his godparents were Franciszek Opaliński, main dziennikarz = reporter of the Rząd Gubernialny Augustowski = the Augustów Gubernia Government and Aleksandra Wojtkiewiczowa. This document was read to the informant and the witnesses and it was signed by them. Wawrzyniec Żylinski oyciec = father; ASlaski; JPiasecki. Rev. Makowski. This a record proved that Wawrzyniec Żyliński was born about 1811 and his wife Marianna née Pade about 1826. The Żyliński family evidently belonged to a circle of prominent Suwałki citizens since they were literate—the ability to write was rare in the Kingdom of Poland where illiteracy rates were about 95% of the whole population. Because of this, it can be speculated that the Żyliński family may have originated from minor nobility.

We declare that in the presence of the witnesses Feliks Dziemian, age 50 and Jan Grądzki, age 48, both farmers residing in the town of Suwałki, on today’s date took place a religious marriage ceremony between Klemens Żyliński, a bachelor, born in the town of Suwałki, son of the deceased Wawrzyniec Żyliński and still living Marianna nee Pade, farmers, age 24, residing by his mother; and Franciszka Karpowicz, a spinster born in the town of Suwałki, daughter of both deceased Romuald Karpowicz and Antonina nee Tylenda, age 22, residing by her relatives in the town of Suwałki. Three banns to this marriage were announced in the Suwałki parish church on 23 April / 5 May; 30 April / 12 May and 7 / 18 May of the current year. No pre-marital agreement has been contracted. The religious ceremony was performed by the Rev. Antoni Radziński a Suwałki vicar.
