Web Notes notes for Rohese DE DOUVRES
In the pleas whereby "Richard the King's Son" and Roese de Douvres, his wife, impleaded Robert FitzWalter and Richard de Montfichet for lands of the de Lucy's inheritance in September 1227 Roese, the plaintiff distinctly states that she was the daughter of Fulbert de Douvres (Assize R., 358, m. 8d; Bracton's Note Bk. no. 1764; Essex Arch. Soc. Trans. n.s., vol. XX, pp. 102-106).117

William Briwere married his daughter, Isabel, about 1200, to Fulbert de Douvres, by whom she had issue a daughter Roese. After the death of Fulbert, she was married to Baldwin Wake, who died before 21 July 1213, when her marriage was granted to her father William Briwere. Her heir was her son Hugh Wake, ancestor of the ancient Northamptonshire family of that name (V.C.H. "Northamptonshire Families Wake", compiled by Oswald Barron, Table, pp. 337-339; Dugdale's Baronage, vol. I, pp. 539/40).117

Roese, daughter and heiress of Fulbert de Douvres, was a minor at his death. She married twice. She was married first, about 1214, to "Richard the King's son", also called "Richard de Chilham" from his wife's heritage. After the death of Richard the King's son, about 1245, Roese married secondly, about 1251, William de Wilton, a Justice of Henry III, who died 14 Apr 1264, and Roese, herself, died about the same time.117
