1877 -He married Anna Barbara Reichardt on 19 Apr in Philadelphia. His marriage is recorded at the Phila City Archives, 1877 Register p33: Married on 19 Apr 1877 Edw White, manuf, res. Phila, born Scotland, age 25, and Ann Richards, res. Phila, born US, age 19, white, Episcopal ceremony, W.K. Carroll clergyman, of 1824 N 7th St. The marriage is also recorded at Philadelphia City Archives, film 237, LDS #1,769,062, returns of ministers, 2d Qtr, 1877, Rev'd W.R. Carroll, Episcopal Church, married 19 Apr 1877 Edward White, manufacturer, res. Phila, born Scotland, 25, and Ann Richards, res. Phila., born NJ, 19, white. He is listed in the Philadelphia City Directory p 1534 as: White, Edward, cotton gds., 1710 Gtn av, h 1923 N 7th.

1878 -He is listed in the Philadelphia City Directory, p 1652 as: White Edward Jr, supt, 1710 Gtn av, h 417 Hackley His father is listed as working at the same place.

1879 -His son, Edward White III, was born 7 Feb in Phila. He is listed in the Philadelphia City Directory, p 1708 as: White Edward Jr, supt, 1711 N 5th That is the same location where his father & his brother, David T White, also work.

He and his brothers David and Alexander became partners with their father, Edward White, doing business as E. White & Sons. See their lawsuit in link above.

1892 -His mother died on 18 Nov, and was buried in the family plot at Mt Moriah Cemetery.

1913 -He made his will on 19 Mar. His will is summarized as follows:
1st -pay just debts and funeral expenses
2nd -to his wife, Anna B, all his estate except his shares of stock in Tioga Textile Co. The shares to be held in trust by his executors, and out of the dividends and income, to pay his wife during her life a weekly income not less than $15 and not more than $40, any accumulated dividends and income paid to his wife to make her weekly income average $40 per week from the date of his decease. Upon the death of his wife, the shares of stock and accumulated dividends and income to his son Edward White Jr [E3]. The trustees may sell the stock if E3 sells his shares at the same time for the same price and upon the same conditions. If there is a sale before the termination of the trust, the net proceeds and accumulated dividends and income to be paid to his wife absolutely. If E3 dies before his mother, the trust to cease and all to become the property of his wife absolutely. During the trust, E3 was to be sure his mother had at least $15 per week, and should it happen there be no funds for the trustees to pay her, then E3 should personally advance $15 per week to his mother, with the right of E3 to reimburse himself for such advances out of the dividends or income and out of the sale of the stock.
3rd -Executors were his friend Emmett O'Neill and son Edward White Jr [E3]. Signed 19 Mar 1913. Witnesses Frederick P Burkart and Joseph R Em, attorney.

1915 -He died in Philadelphia on 16 Mar, and was buried in the White family plot at Mt Moriah Cemetery, Phila, section 17, lot 15. According to the records of Mt Moriah Cemetery, at the Penna. Historical Society, Phila, film 777:3, he was buried at Mt Moriah on 2o Mar, age 63, buried section 17, lot 15, 2d from NW corner, permit #91915, 9" brick new. His death is recorded at the Phila City Archives, 1915, death cert #6318, reel 681, died at 2309 E York St, ward 31, Phila, Edward White, male, white, married, born 4 Jan 1852, age 63 years, 2 mon, 12 days, textile mfr, born Scotland, father Edw White born Scotland, mother Annie Tivedale [sic] born Scotland, informant Anna B White of 2309 E York St, died 16 Mar 1915 at 7 pm, from locomotor ataxia, Dr Thos. Matlock attended him from 10-16 Mar, buried Mt Moriah 20 Mar, Chas H Thiele of 2414 N 10th, undertaker.

WHITE.-On Mar 16 1915 EDWARD, husband of Anna B. White (nee Reichardt) and son of the late Edward and Annie White. Relatives and friends, also Quaker City Lodge, 116, A.O.U.W., are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at his late residence 2309 East York St. Interment private at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

-On 3 Apr 1915, his executors filed a Petition for Probate. It states in part: Estate of Edward White, Sr [E2], will dated 19 Mar 1913, Edward White Sr died at 2309 E York St, Phila, on 16 Mar 1915 at 7 pm. His personal property was estimated at $26,000. He had no real estate. Executors were Emmett O'Neill of 4665 Leijer St, Phila, and Edward White, Jr [E3] of 1614 Wakeling St, Phila. The will was admitted to probate on 3 Apr. The will and estate papers are filed at the Phila City Wills Archives, 1915, #843, will bk 368 p75. On 10 May 1916 his widow, Anna B White, elected to take under the provisions of the will dated 19 Mar 1913.

-The inventory of his estate showed he had 498 shares of capital stock in Tioga Textile Co at $50 per share, for a total of $24,900, plus 3 shares of capital stock held jointly with his son worth $75, for a total value of his estate worth $24,975.

An obituary appears in the book, “Textile World,” vol 49, 1915, page 132:
Edward White, president of the Tioga Textile Company, Philadelphia, PA., died at his home in that city, following an illness of twelve years. He was 63 years of age and was born in Scotland. When a young man he settled in this country and was an apprentice in several textile mills. In 1905 he came to Philadelphia where he was made a member of the Tioga Textile Company and later was appointed president. His wife and one son survive him.
