This generation is confirmed in that posting. Farmerie calls him "The monk, King of Navarre". Farmerie later added: "Fortun Garces was captured by the muslims, and while he was absent (a period of 20 years or so) the kingdom was administered by Garcia Jimenez, who was from western Navarre. On the return of Fortun, he was forced into a monastery (IIRC), and the kingdom was ruled by Sancho Garces, son of Garcia Jimenez (to the exclusion of Fortun's own sons, brother (who may have predeceased him) and nephews. Sancho eventually reunited the claims by marrying Toda Aznarez, the maternal granddaughter of Fortun."
