Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (139:25). Per Cockayne's "Complete Peerage" (EU, p.155), he was Count of Eu and Lord of Hastings. He supported KING HENRY I of England against Duke Robert of Normandy when THE KING visited Normandy in 1104. In 1118, however, he was arrested while preparing to join the revolt in favor of William, the Duke's son and imprisoned until he surrendered his castles to KING HENRY. He was, however, on KING HENRY's side at the battle of Bremule in 1119. He finished his years as a monk at Foucarmont.
