He finished his years as a monk at Foucarmot. John had four sons - his heir HENRY, another Henry and John (both churchmen), and Robert, who died at Acre. He also had two unnamed daughters. The younger John was an adherent of KING JOHN and was given all the lands of his father in 1202 upon the false report of the death of the Countess Alice [his niece] and held it until his death in about 1207, when the estates went back to Alice.
