1811 - He took the family name of Bronkhorst on 12 Dec in Amsterdam. G.A.Amsterdam naamaannemingsacte Mozes David Bronkhorst dd. 12 Dec 1811 nr. 60B. Translated from Dutch as:
Before us Assistant Mayor, as civil servant of the Registrar's Office in the City of Amsterdam, Dept. of Zuiderzee, First District, appeared Mozes Davids living in the Verwerstraat #43 Canton I, who has declared that he takes as Family name the name of Bronkhorst and as first name Mozes David, that he has two sons and two daughters, two grandsons and one granddaughter, to say:
Levie Mozes, age 29, living in the Joodenkerkstraat near the Amstel, married with Aaltje Levie, from which marriage begot
Mozes Levie, age 7, Eliazer, age 1 and Vrouwtje age 6, living at the house of their father,
Hartog Mozes age 25, Beletje Mozes age 31 and Vrouwtje Mozes age 20 living at the house of their father, to which children and grandchildren he let keep the before mentioned first names. This certificate being signed by us alone on account of the informer declared not to be able to write, the 12th of December 1811.

It is not clear whether the family at one time came from the town of Bronkhorst, described by cousin Ze'ev Bar as "a tiny little town" in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. Because it had walls around it in the early Middle Ages, it is a "town" and even the smallest town in the Netherlands. I visited the place, and found a small, well conserved Jewish graveyard.

1812 - He appeared as one of the seven witnesses to the birth and age of Annaatje Salomon Markloper, who was about to marry his son, Hartog. He testified as to the date of her birth because Annaatje had no other documentation of her birth.

1813 - His son, Hartog, married first wife, Annaatje, on 17 Jan in Amsterdam.

1818 - His son, Hartog, married second wife, Rachel DeVries in Nov in Utrecht.

1822 - He died at Amsterdam on 4 Sep.
