1815 - He was born in Weesp, Noord Holland, Netherlands on 15 Mar. His birth is recorded on LDS film #116,170, Births, Weesp. It states: "In 1815 on 17 March came before me Abraham Henricus de la Fuente, age 49, a tailor, living in Weesp, who declared that on 15 March to his wife Elizabeth Heijman was born a male child named Simon Abraham. Declared in front of Johannes Hoefsloot and also Reyer van der Bulten. They are witnesses. One cannot write. Signed by Abraham Henriques delaFuente and J Hoefsloot."

At the Weesp City Archives, there is a Volkstelling (census) 1815-1820, vol III B 32, p 47, in which the family appears living at Middelstraat #197 which they inherited from van Drasthaagen, as follows:

1829 - He is listed in the Volkstelling (census) on p 81as living at Huijzerpoortstraat #374, Naarden, a single family house with 5 persons living in the house:

1836 - On 7 Aug he married Beletje Rokkestikker at Naarden. This was the civil marriage. His religious marriage [Ketubah] is listed in the book, "Handleiding bij index op de Ketuboth van de Portugees-Israelietische Gemeente te Amsterdam van 1650-1911", in the European book area of the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, 949.234/AZ F2vd. It states: bridegroom: Simon, father Abraham dela Fuente, bride: Beletje, father: Salomon Rokkestikker, 8 Elul 5596, 21 Aug 1836 in the sephardi synagogue in Amsterdam.

-His marriage certificate is recorded on LDS film #115,877, Marriages, Naarden, 1836. It states: On 7 Aug 1836 at noon appeared before the Mayor of Naarden to get married, Simon Abraham de la Fuente, unmarried, age 21, a merchant, born in Weesp, living in Naarden, adult son of Abraham Henricus de la Fuente, deceased, and Elizabeth Heijman, no occupation, age 67, living in Naarden, and Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker, unmarried, age 27, a maid, born and living in Amsterdam, adult daughter of Salomon Levie Rokkestikker, deceased, and Beletje Arons, no occupation, living in Amsterdam, who agrees to the marriage. They registered to marry on 24 and 31 July at Naarden and Amsterdam without any opposition. The documents presented were:
1. A certificate of not enough money to pay the fees from the Mayor of Naarden for Simon.
2. Birth certificate that Simon Abraham de la Fuente was born 25 Mar 1815 in Weesp.
3. Death certificate that Abraham Henriques de la Fuente died 30 Aug 1826 in Naarden.
4. A certificate that Simon Abraham de la Fuente has fulfilled his obligation as to the national military.
5. A certificate of not enough money to pay the fees from the Mayor of Amsterdam for Beletje.
6. Birth certificate that Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker was born 12 Feb 1809 in Amsterdam.
7. Death certificate that Salomon Levie Rokkestikker died 30 Jul 1830 in Amsterdam.
Witnesses were:
1. Dirk Harthagon, shopkeeper, age 40, of Naarden
2. Wilhelmus Looser, a servant of justice, age 50, of Naarden
3. Barent van den Heuvel, a servant of justice, age 45, of Naarden
4. Pieter van Dijk, a servant of the police, age 50, of Naarden
All four witnesses were non-Jews. They probably worked in city hall.

-His marriage supplement is recorded on LDS film #115,882, #10, Huwelijks Bijlagen, Naarden. A loose translation is: Province of North Holland, Amsterdam, I, the undersigned, the keeper of the law according to Article 95 of the Southern Regiment and named the Honorable Mayor, declare that the marriage proclamation of Simon Abraham de la Fuente, salesman, living in Naarden, an adult son of Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, deceased, and Elisabeth Heijman, no profession, living in Naarden, and Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker, a female worker living in Naarden, an adult daughter of Salomon Levi Rokkestikker, deceased, and Beletje Arons, a housewife living in Achier state that everything they have said is true. This declaration was made on Sunday the 30th of Aug 1836. This declaration was made without any interference. Signed by the Magistrate.

-The 2nd page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as: Certificate of ? The Mayor of the City of Naarden declares that Simon Abraham de la Fuente who has the profession of salesman, born in Weesp and living in this area is . . . He needs this so that he can conduct the marriage with Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker who lives in Amsterdam in order that the marriage certificate be legal. Signed 4 July 1836 by the Mayor, J. P. Thierens.

-The third page of the Bijlagan is loosely translated as:
[There is an indication that Simon paid a fee] Standing of the Native, Province of North Holland, City of Weesp. Extract. The Birth Register of the Natives of Weesp shows Simon Abraham son of Abraham Henricus de la Fuente and Elizabeth Heijman was born on the 15th of Mar 1815. The above extract declares that the information of a native of Weesp coincides with the aforementioned register and was signed in Weesp on 16 July 1856 by DeVries in the handwriting of DeVries who is an employee of the government of Weesp.

-The 4th page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as:
Decision made on 26 May 1824, State Law #35, Province of North Holland, City of Naarden, This extract of the ? Register ??? of Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, husband of Elizabeth Heijman ??? died 30 Aug 1826 is deceased and the above mentioned register ??? signed 4 July 1836 by Johannes Peters Thierans, the Mayor of Naarden ???

-The 5th page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as:
National Military Certificate from the Governor of North Holland. This declares that Simon Abraham de la Fuente born in Weesp on 15 Mar 1815, a salesman, son of Abraham Henricus and Elisabeth Heijman, who had no profession, living in Naarden, was registered in the National Militia and he was given number 77 in the militia, and until that date, he had not been called up and did not have to do military service. All details were taken in Haarlem on 31 Dec 1835. Signed on behalf of the governor by ? Tuyler. Description: height 1 el 6 pm 5 dm; face long; forehead ?; eyes brown; nose long; mouth ordinary; chin ?; hair ?; eyebrows ?; notable scars ? he had one ?; handwriting legible. All registered Document #11700.

-The 6th page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as:
For God, #299, The Mayor of Amsterdam testifies that according to the following information, that Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker, profession of delivery person, born on --, living on Hoogenbruger Gracht in the Stoender Snydersgan is unable to pay for proof and registration in order for marriage to take place. Amsterdam 12 July 1836. Signed by the Mayor. The above extract is ??? signed according to law of Act 95 of Southern ?. All of this is done with the knowledge of the Honorable Mayor mentioned in the aforementioned register.

-The 7th page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as:
Province of North Holland, Amsterdam, Birth Register of ? Community. Beletje Salomon Rokkestikker was born on 12 Feb 1809. The extract is certified in accordance with Act 95 ??? Signed 18 July 1836.

-The 8th page of the bijlagen is loosely translated as:
Province of North Holland, Amsterdam, Death Register of ??? Salomon Levie Rokkenstikker, married to Beletje Arons, died on 30 July 1830. The extract is certified in accordance with Act 95 ??? Signed 11 July 1836.

1837 - His daughter, Rebecca, was born in Amsterdam on 20 Feb. On her birth certificate he is listed as Simon Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, age 22, no occupation, living at Vlooyensgracht #22, Amsterdam with his wife and her brother, Levie Salomon Rokkenstikker, one of the birth witnesses. Also he declared he was unable to write.

1839 - Daughter, Beletje, was born in Naarden on 2 June. The birth certificate states that Simon Abraham de la Fuente was a fuselier with the 17th Regiment of Infantry in the District of Tilburg [in the south, near Eindhoven]. He was not at home when the child was born; he was in Tilburg. His family was living in Kloosterstraat #23

1839 - He is listed in the Volkstelling (census) on p 85 as living at Schipperstraat #461, Naarden, a single family house with 4 persons living in the house:

1841 - They had a stillborn son on 20 Apr in Naarden.

1842 - Daughter, Sara, was born on 14 Aug in Naarden. Her birth certificate lists him as Simon Abraham de la Fuente, merchant, age 27, of Sint Vitastraat #113, and states that the merchant Simon Abraham de la Fuente can not sign his name.

1844 - His daughter, Miriam, was born in Amsterdam.

1848 - His son, Abraham, was born on 5 May in Amsterdam, Holland. He registered the birth on 8 May. He had no profession at the time. They were living at Marken #7, Amsterdam.

1850 - His son, Salomon, was born in Amsterdam.

It is loosely translated as: Fuente, de la; Simon Abraham; born 15 Mar 1815; place of birth Weesp; married; religion Portugese Israelite [Sephardic Jew]; occupation koster = caretaker of synagogue; married 7 Aug 1836 at Weesp [there are more comments, something about children, but otherwise the comments are unreadable]; living at his residence at 128 Kerkstraat [Church Street] Amsterdam; with his wife, Beletje Saloman Rokkestikker, children Rebecca, Beletje, Sara, Miriam, Abraham and Salomon, also with Engeltje DeLaFuente [DLF] born 1832 in Amsterdam, Eva DLF [daughter of his brother, Hyman] born 1837 Amsterdam, Simon DLF born 1839 Amsterdam, Joseph DLF born 1841 Amsterdam, Josef DLF born 184? Amsterdam, Sara DLF born 1842 Amsterdam, Betje DLF born 1832 Amsterdam, and David DLF born 1833 Naarden. These other DLF's are probably relatives. There are comments about the last two DLF's named, but I cannot make them out.

1871 - His son, Abraham, married Maria Anna Moses Bronkhorst on 31 May at the Bevis Marks Synagogue, London, England. According to his son's marriage certificate, Simon was a "carrier." According to a book of genealogical definitions, a "carrier" is either a laborer who carried mortar to a bricklayer, or a person who carried messages from one place to another.
