Web Notes notes for Abraham Abraham HENRIQUES DE LA FUENTE
1772 - His father died on 3 Mar, two months before he was born. He was born on 29 May in Amsterdam, Holland. His birth is recorded on LDS film #540,170, Births Amsterdam 1771-1775. It states: #400, F. 105, Religion: Portugese Israelite, Father: A H de la Fuente, Mother: S. Rodrigues, Child: Abraham, born 1772 29 May.
His birth is recorded on LDS film #114,993, Records of the Portuguese Jewish Community, Amsterdam. It states: 29 May 1772, Abraham son of Abraham Henriques Dela Fuente and of Simha daughter of Eliau son of Daniel Rodrigues.

1805 - He moved to Weesp, Noord Holland. He had a letter of indemnification, found at the Weesp Municipal Archives:
We make surety for the person of Abraham son of Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, his wife and children, who plan to go to Weesp, and by this document we say that he will never become a burden to Weesp and we will be responsible for his financial security. Signed by Abraham Brandon & Mordeahay van David Levie Montezinos. The seal of the document said 1805.

1809 - There were 104 Jews living in Weesp.

1813 - He registered as a tailor in the city of Weesp on 20 Jun, in the Registre of Patents, #44.

In 1815 he was living in Weesp, Noord Holland. He was then 49 years old and a tailor. His son, Simon, was born there on 15 Mar.

At the Weesp City Archives, there is a census, vol III B 32, p 47, in which the family appears living at Middelstraat #197 which they inherited from van Drasthaagen, as follows:
Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, born 1766, Jewish
Betje Heimans, born 1772, Jewish
Zantje de la Fuente born 1799, Jewish
Heiman de la Fuente born 1806, Jewish
Cato de la Fuente born 1810, Jewish
Jet de la Fuente born 1812, Jewish
Simon Abraham de la Fuente born 1815, Jewish

1823 - He married Elizabeth Heijman in a civil marriage in Naarden on 1 Jun 1823. Presumably there was a much earlier Jewish marriage in Weesp. The marriage certificate states: On 1 June 1823 at noon Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, unmarried, age 50, a tailor, born in Amsterdam, living in Naarden, son of Abraham Henriques de la Fuente and Simha Rodrigues, both deceased, came to marry Elizabeth Heijman, unmarried, age 48, no occupation, born in Weesp, living in Naarden, daughter of Heijman Abraham and Marritje Heijmans, both deceased. Wedding intentions were announced on the 20th and 27th of April 1823 in Naarden with no opposition. The 'baptism' extract states that Abraham Henriques de la Fuente was born 29 May 1772 in Amsterdam. There is a death extract that his father died 3 Mar 1772 in Amsterdam. There is a death extract that his mother, Simha Henriques de la Fuente, died on 8 Nov 1807 in Amsterdam. There is a certificate of knowledge (since there were no birth certificates at the time of her birth) saying that Elizabeth Heijman was born in Weesp in 1775, and also that her parents died in Weesp. Abraham Henriques de la Fuente declared that the 5 persons named below are his children by his wife, and by right of Article 331 of the Civil Rights, he wants to make them legitimate with the rights given to children of legitimate marriages. They are: 1. Santje Henriques de la Fuente, born Amsterdam 7 Sep 1801. 2. Hijman Henriques de la Fuente born 21 Dec 1806 in Weesp. 3. Cato Henriques de la Fuente born 4 Jan 1810 in Weesp. 4. Hester Henriques de la Fuente born 2 Jun 1812 in Weesp. 5. Simon Abraham Henriques de la Fuente born 15 Mar 1815 in Weesp. Since there were no birth certificates at the time of the births of Santje, Hijman and Cato, there are certificates of knowlege of their births filed with the Justice of the Peace in Weesp, and registered in Amsterdam. There are birth certificates for the births of Hester and Simon. The witnesses to the marriage are: 1. Isaac Harshagen of Naarden, carpenter, age 58. 2. Dirk de Beus of Naarden, innkeeper, age 52. 3. Arie van Zanten of Naarden, a justice officer, age 53. 4. Pieter van Dijk of Naarden, an officer of the police, age 38. The certificate states that the bride and groom cannot write, however, the groom signed his name. Registered 1 Jun 1823.

His death is recorded on LDS film #115,884, Deaths, Naarden, 30 Aug 1826. It states: "Registered 31 Aug 1826, Abraham Henriques de la Fuente, husband of Elizabeth Heijman, died on 30 Aug in Naarden, age 54, a tailor, born Amsterdam 29 May 1772, son of Abraham Henriques de la Fuente and Simha Rodrigues, both deceased.
