Web Notes notes for Cynfyn AP PEBIAW King Of Ergyng
Bartrum's "Welsh Classical Dictionary". The son of Peibio ab Erb, mentioned in the Book of Llandaf as king, presumably of Ergyng. His name appears in a grant of land to bishop Aeddan, a disciple of Dubricius, and in another charter in which bishop Elwystl figures (BLD 162-3). He was the father of Gwrgan, king of Ergyng (BLD 163). He probably succeeded Gwrfoddw as king. There are earlier charters in which he appears as witness (not as king) with disciples of Dubricius (BLD 73b, 76a).
