In 6 Rich. I (1194/5) Roese de Douvres accounted for having the lands of Richard de Lucy, her grandfather, which her brother Richard had afterwards had in England and Normandy and for license to marry as she choose.279
Richard de Lucy "the Loyal" was the Norman born Justiciar of Henry II (Essex Arch. Soc. Trans. n.s., nol. XX, pp. 102-106; J. H. Round in The Genealogist n.s., vol. XV, p. 129 sq.).279
In Sep 1227 Richard, the King's son, and Roese de Douvres, his wife, were impleading Robert fitzWalter and Richard de Montfichet (grandsons of the Justiciar Richard de Lucy) for lands in Lesnes, co. Kent, and the pleadings state that Roese was the daughter of Fulbert and a granddaughter of Roese de Lucy, who was seised in King Richard's time (Assize Roll 358 m. 8d; Essex Arch. Soc. Trans. n.s., vol. XX, pp. 102-106).279
