Web Notes notes for Saint Sigebert III King Of Austrasia
According to the book "Before France & Germany" by Patrick J Geary, ISBN 0-19-504458-4, p 232, he had an adopted son, Childebertus Adoptivus, son of Grimoald, who was king from 656-661?

Dagobert decided to follow the example of his father and make a concession to Austrasian particularism. He gave the land a king in the person of his eldest son, Sigebert, the three-year -old child of an Austrasian concubine.194

As head of the Pippinid family, Grimoald sought to take the office of mayor of the palace, which was held by Otto, the tutor of the young King Sigebert III. There were several rivals pitched against him, including Radulf, duke of Thuringia, who had taken advantage of the death of Dagobert to shake off Frankish control. He was supported by Fara, the son of the Agilolfing Chrodoald, whom Dagobert murdered at the request of the Arnulfings. The revolt of Radulf was not a national uprising, but rather an attempt by the duke to loose himself from the authority of the young Merovingian prince.194

Grimoald accompanied Duke Adalgesil and King Sigebert III on their expedition against Radulf. The Austrasians were crushed, and the king owed his very survival to Grimoald's intervention. Hereafter, Grimoald gained the king's friendship. He contrived to remove Otto by inducing an Aleman to assassinate him and then took his place as mayor of the palace.194

In 656, the young King Sigebert III died at age 26. His saintly reputation earned him a local cult, but as king he had reigned under the absolute control of the mayor of the palace.194

King Sigebert III despaired of having a male heir. He accepted a proposal to adopt Grimoald's son and gave him the typically Merovingian name of Childbert. The Austrasian queen then produced a son, named Dagobert after his grandfather, and Sigebert changed his arrangements and entrusted Grimoald with Dagobert's education. When Sigebert died his own son was to succeed him as Dagobert II, but Grimoald had the infant tonsured and gave him to Dido, bishop of Poitiers, who took him to Ireland. Grimoald put his own son, known as Childebert the Adopted, on the throne of Austrasia.194
