Served King Henry III with his father in the wars in France and Scotland and invaded Desmond where he killed Cormac MacCarthy, Lord of Desmond at the battle of Callan in 1262 which the MacCarthys won, halting the Norman advance into South Kerry. He was executed at Athanchip in 1270 while a hostage of the King of Connacht.9
