Theobald III of Blois (1125-1152) and I of Champagne (1047-1089). Theobold married three times : first to Gersende of Maine (renounced 1048); second to Gundrada; and third to Alix de Crepi. ES ii,46 has Gundrada as STEPHEN's mother. Weis' "Ancestral Roots" 137:22, states that ALIX was the mother of STEPHEN. Theobald's son, Hugh succeeded him as count of Champagne and his younger son, STEPHEN, succeeded him as count of Blois.
