Web Notes notes for Herleve Of Falaise
From "Debrett's Kings and Queens of Britain" by David Williamson, ISBN 0-86350-101-X, p. 43:
She was the official mistress of Duke Robert 'the Devil' of Normandy, installed in his castle at Falaise. Unions such as that between Duke Robert and Herleve were not uncommon in the ducal House of Normandy. She probably also had a daughter by Duke Robert.

Shortly after the birth of her illegitimate son, William the Conqueror, she was married off to Herluin, vicomte of Conteville, and to him she was to bear two very distinguished sons, namely Odo, the famous bishop of Bayeux and subsequently earl of Kent, and Robert, count of Mortain, later one of the largest landowners in eleventh-century England.134

Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (121:23), (121E:22), (130:23). She was the mother of William the Conquerer (illegitimate). AKA Herleve. Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Chester, p.164). Stuart's "Royalty for Commoners" (160:32), for her marriage to HERLUIN.
