Held his lands of Walter de Gant in 1115-1118.
fn c: Lincs Domesday & Lindsey Survey, pp 242, 254. A notification (abt 1125-30) by Maud, daughter of Stephen, Count of Brittany, wife of Walter de Gant, is witnessed by Rachmar, son of Gilbert (Early Yorks Charters, ed. Clay, vol. v, p 342; sf. Round, Feudal England, p 189). The unusual name Rachmar suggests that Gilbert was a younger son of the D.B. [Domesday book?] tenant.
