The founder of the Royal Line of Tudor was Marchudd ap Cynan, Lord of Brynffenigl, in Denbighland, Founder of the VIII. Noble Tribe of North Wales and Powys, who flourished in the middle of the ninth century. His chief seat was Brynffenigl, in Denbighland; and the Welsh heralds assign to him for arms, "Gu., a Saracen's head, erased at the neck, arg., environed about the temples with a wreath, or, and arg., " the ensigns still borne by his descendant, Lord Mostyn. This Noble was father (with two junior sons, 1. Arseth, and 2. Owen) of Karwedh ap Marchudd, Lord of Brynffenigl.
