Ednyfed, son of Llywarch Gam by Lleucu, daughter of Gwrystan, is stated in most pedigrees to have married Sioned, daughter and co-heiress of Rhiwallon ap Cynfyn, Prince of Powys, who was slain at the battle of Mechain in 1064; but, if so, Sioned must have been his second wife unless, indeed, Rhiwallon was very much older than his brother, Prince Bleddyn, and Sioned married when a mere child, as Rhys Sais, son of Ednyfed, was not born much later than about 1030.
