He stablished his authority over much of west Limerick. He built castles as Glyn and Beagh. about 1260. In 1299 he was holding half a tuath in Glancobry for 20 shillings, when royal service is proclaimed, and does suit at court. This half tuath would correspond to the present parish of Kilfergus or Glin. He was residing in Connelloe in 1307 when he was commissioned to capture certain outlaws. It has been estimated that his entire territory extended over an area which was 16 miles long by 9 miles wide.17
