In the Matter of Adolph Jacob On his Naturalization. I, Adolph Jacob Do declare on oath that I am a native of Germany, that I have resided within the US for 5 years, and that for 1 year at least I have resided within the State of NJ; and that at the time I so arrived in the US I had not attained my 18th years; and that it is bona fide my intention, and has been for the last 3 years, to become a Citizen of the US, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to . . . the Emperor of Germany, and I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the US, and that I do absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to . . . the Emperor of Germany of whom I was a subject. Sworn in open Court, this 31st day of October 1878, Adolph Jacob. Before me, John P. Ruhoff?, Judge. Simon Marks being duly sworn, doth depose and say that he is a citizen of the US, that he is well acquainted with the above named Adolph Jacob, and that the said Adolph Jacob has resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the US for 5 years at least, and for 1 year at least within the State of NJ, and that during the same period he has behaved himself as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles and Constitution of the US, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same; and he further saith that at the time the said Adolph Jacob arrived in the US he had not attained his 18th year. Sworn in Open Court this 31st day of October, 1878, Simon Marks.
