Marriage record of Józef Pade and Józefa Kunicka - 1822 Entry no. 341
On 24 September 1822. In front of us the Suwałki priest and the civil records keeper of the Suwałki county, Dąbrowa district in the Augustów province (wojewódźtwo) came Jegomość Pan Józef Pade, a bachelor, age 26 according to the baptismal record issued from the Berdzianski church, from the kordon austriacki, piwowar = beer producer, residing in the manor house in Huta of the Suwałki county. Son of the late Jan Pade and living Regina née Koderska. Came also Imci Pannna Józefa Kunicka, 18 according to the baptismal record issued from the Krasnopolski church. Residing by her brother-in-law in Suwałki. Daughter of Jan Kunicki and Rozalia née Szymańska. The newlyweds asked to start the marriage procedure; banns were announced and placed on the community hall doors, the first on 15 September and the second on 22 September of the current year at noon on Sundays. No obstacles to the marriage were encountered and all law formalities were fulfilled. All the presented papers were read to the newlyweds and the witnesses. According to the Napoleon Law, section no. 6 about the marriages we have asked the newlyweds, whether they want to be married. Each of them separately said that they do. We declare that according to the law Jegomość Pan Józef Pade and Imci Panna Józefa Kunicka are married. This was written in the presence of Wielmożny = most noble Antoni Faliński, age 35, a deputy major of the Huta county and Wielmożny = most noble Jan Maiewski, age 36, a commissar of the Huta estate and Jegomość Pan Franciszek Żorgo, age 24, income controller of land assets, all residing in the Huta manor house; and also Wielmożny = most noble Józef Szafrański, age 28, a lieutenant veteran, residing in Suwałki. This document was read to the witnesses and the newlyweds and it was signed by us and all individuals listed in this document. The marriage record reported that the groom was from the kordon austriacki. This is likely a reference to the Austrian military station located in the town of Suwałki. The Polish term or title Jegomość Pan for males and Imci Pannna related to someone of the higher social class (sometimes nobility). Józef Pade, the brewer, came to the Suwałki Region from Galicia. He got a job at the Huta farm, belonging to the huge Wigry economy. In 1822, he married Józefa Kunicki, who was eight years his junior and was born in nearby Krasnopol. From this relationship, Jan Kanty Pade was born on November 23, 1823. Family life must have been terrible since Jan Kanty’s parents decided to part ways. They could do so in the majesty of the law under a court judgment in 1833. Released from the oath, the father set off into the world.

In 1822, he married Józefa Kunicki, who was eight years his junior, and was born in nearby Krasnopol. From this relationship, Jan Kanty Pade was born on November 23, 1823. Family life must have been terrible, since Jan Kanty's parents decided to split up. They could do so in the majesty of the law, under a court judgment in 1833. Released from the oath, the father set off into the world. He died in Warsaw in 1839 at the age of 40. According to the death certificate (No. 677), he was the son of Jan and Marianna.
He was born in Prokocim in 1799, now part of Krakow.
