Web Notes notes for Isaac Laemmlein Marx HEIDENHEIMER Kohen
"Laemmlein" is a diminutive of the German word "Lamm" ('lamb')

1773 - According to the Bavarian Matrikel List of Jews, he was born in Schnaittach, Bavaria.

-Isaac is listed in the Bavarian Matrikel List for Schnaittach, on FHL film #GS 1,190,989, p636-left and film #GS 1,190,988, p637-right. #1506 is the number of his letter of protection. We do know it is not a permit but a letter of protection, because he obtained it before permits/matrikels were issued. This is based on the 2nd column in the right hand page, which is the date of enrollment in the "permit system." Place of residence, Schnaittach, the 33rd household on the list. Name of head of household was Isaac Laemmlein Marx Heidenheimer, born in Schnaittach in 1773. Date when Isaac originally got his protective letter is on 16 May 1808. Occupation: dealer in lace and dress materials. The protective letter was transferred to Loew Graf, who married Isaac's widow, Sara on 17 Jun 1823. So Loew Graf got Isaac's wife, his letter of protection, and his dwelling place. This means that Isaac must have died by 1823, when his widow remarried. This fits in with the German book about Schnaittach, that Isaac was not alive in 1830, but Loew Graf was. I am not certain whether 17 Jun 1823 is the date Loew Graf got the letter of protection, or the date he married Sara, or perhaps it was shortly after, if he had to do some official act like registering with the authorities.

1811/12 -His son, Abraham, was born in Schnaittach.

-He is mentioned on his son, Abraham's tombstone. The back of the tombstone states in Hebrew, "Here lies buried Abraham, son of Isaac, a Kohen . . . "
