-He loved music and always wanted to play the piano. He was a mechanic. He ran the City Point and South Boston taxi companies. He was a leader man at Watertown Arsenal. He was an "inventor." He invented a strawberry hulling machine that used a vacuum, but upon first use it splattered the strawberries all over the walls! He invented some kind of dancing puppet doll. He was an amateur boxer and taught boxing. He was very strong. Once, while living at 614 E. 5th St, S. Boston, an auto ran over his 4 year old daughter, Marion. He was so strong he literally lifted the car off her. In those days, cars were very heavy! Later, he lived at 3rd St. S. Boston, for a short time, then 600A E. Broadway, S. Boston, for a short time, then 130 Emerson St around 1929. Later he lived at 499 Huntington Ave, Boston. He ran a restaurant for 3-4 weeks before his suicide at age 57.

1945 -His sister, Carrie, died on 30 Sep. He was the informant on her death certificate. On19 Nov, he shot himself through the brain. His death certificate, #9951 says Samuel Jacobs died 19 Nov 1945, white male, married to Rebecca DeLaFiunte [sic], age 56, resided at 499 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA, a restaurant owner, died at 499 Huntington Ave, born in Troy NY, father Adolph Jacobs born in Germany and mother Lillian M. Franklin born in Troy [sic] NY, died from bullet wound thru brain Internal and external hemorrhage Suicidal 11/18/45 Boston Home Found dead in his bed, buried Mt Hope Cemetery, Boston, MA. The Return of the Medical Examiners, North Part of Suffolk Co, located at the MA State Archives, vol 426, page 64, #632 states: #10086, male, unknown nativity, Samuel Jacobs of 499 Huntington Ave, Boston, Mass, age 57, married, died on 19 Nov 1945 at 9:30 pm at 499 Huntington Ave, Apt 8, Boston, Mass, autopsy performed Nov 20, 1945 at 10:25 am at the North Mortuary, Boston, Mass, death from a bullet wound through Brain; Internal and External Hemorrhage. Suicidal. Found dead in his bed. Inquest #164c.
